To us, a hotel must be more than just guest rooms with beds and blankets. At the Arthur Hotels we wish to be your home away from home. You are welcomed by smiling receptionists, comfy sofas and armchairs and lit fireplaces.

The Arthur hotels are small, sustainable and local hotels with an informal atmosphere. Arthur Hotels is the umbrella over Hotel Kong Arthur, Ibsens Hotel, 3 busy restaurants, a maze of courtyards, a spa and a conference center in Copenhagen city center by Nørreport.

3 women in charge

This is how Ibsens Hotel was marketed 50 years ago. Back then it was an insinuation of the real situation, but today it’s closer to the truth. However, there are many more people of both sexes involved, of course. With care for our guests as well as colleagues, our hotels are run by three women: CEO Kirsten Brøchner, COO Helle Bisholm and CCO Pia Schmølker. Arthur Hotels is build on family traditions and principles of hospitality, solidarity and care. At any Arthur Hotel, the most important is that you feel welcomed and at home. We want to get to know our guests, to be able to recognize them when they return and to know they are feeling good here with us. This is why at Arthur Hotels, you come as guest but leave as family.

Music is a celebration of life

”Music is a celebration of life” wrote Joe Lovano in our guestbook the year he stayed at Hotel Kong Arthur during Copenhagen Jazz Festival. We agree. Music is important for living a full life, and in our case, jazz music is especially close to our hearts.

We have a long history of collaboration with the jazz people. The founders of Hotel Kong Arthur, Hans and Søster Brøchner-Mortensen, started that tradition when well-known jazz house Montmartre needed a place to stay for their touring musicians. They made a special floor at their at that time quite small hotel, only for musicians. Because they needed late food and other amenities due to their job and its special conditions.

Arthur Hotels has maintained a working relationship with the music venues and step in to support when they need hospitality and accommodation.
