Hotel Kong Arthur lies alongside the lakes in central Copenhagen. In addition to yoga in the hotel’s magical new Shala (yoga room), you can also try the fantastic Ni’mat Spa, which offers both saunagus aroma therapy and nourishing treatments. You will experience King Arthur’s renowned breakfast, which will stimulate all your senses. And finally, Urban Retreat also includes lunch and a two-course culinary dining experience at one of the hotel’s restaurants.

 

You will stay in a double room or a large single room at Hotel Kong Arthur and experience two days filled with yoga, meditation, massage and spa. Surrounded by courtyards, Hotel Kong Arthur features a spa and three restaurants associated with the hotel. A maximum of 12 participants can take part in Urban Retreats. 

 

1. Yin & Mindfulness, Yoga Nidra & Meditation

– Find peace of mind and achieve greater awareness here and now’

 

In the search for peace of mind, we often travel to remote places or far out into the countryside, but since most of us live busy and stressful lives, it is right here – in the heart of the city – that we need to be able to master our minds and find peace in body and soul. Through yin yoga, mindfulness and meditation we will achieve peace in body and soul.

 

YIN YOGA

Yin yoga involves do the yoga postures (asanas) at a slower pace. Each posture is held for an extended period –typically 3-5 minutes. There is time for you to immerse yourself and find your inner quiet. The focus is on breathing as you meditate your way into the various stretch positions. Yin yoga is designed to penetrate deep into the connective tissues and boost your body’s flexibility. The meridians (energy pathways) are stimulated and energy blockages are loosened, causing an increased energy flow in the body – all of which has a healing effect on the body and its organs.

 

YOGA NIDRA

Yoga Nidra is a deep form of relaxation consisting of several different layers or steps that you are guided through. We start by setting a sankalpa: a sentence that expresses a deep-felt desire and helps you to establish an intention. A body scan is then undertaken, with the focus on breathing, senses, emotions and visualization on a specific theme. We always conclude by repeating your personal sankalpa.

 

MINDFULNESS
Mindfulness is a way of being in the world. Here you will be introduced to the nine qualities that we cultivate in mindfulness to create conscious awareness of the here and now. We will perform mindful yoga with a focus on your experience of the body, together with meditation on the senses.

 

WHO CAN TAKE PART?

Anyone can join in our retreats: men, women, couples – even if you’ve never tried yoga before. It’s a great way to gain an introduction to yoga and teach yourself to breathe properly.

 

 

2. Vinyasa , Hatha & Yin

– Find your inner strength, and achieve clarity and balance in your life

 

This retreat is for those who are seeking greater balance, strength, clarity and focus in their lives. In this Urban Retreat, you will find your inner strength and vitality through both Hatha yoga and Vinyasa yoga. We all need to find light in the dark, and at the same time cultivate the qualities of autumn darkness. We will work with the power of setting a resolve, which will help and support you in achieving better balance and clarity concerning what you need. We will meditate and work, through visualization, on what it is that you wish to attract more of into your life.

 

VINYASA FLOW

Vinyasa Flow is a dynamic form of yoga in which you move from one posture to another. The postures are performed in time with your breathing, like a dance. The focus is on creating flow and moving your body in step with your breathing.

 

HATHA YOGA 

Hatha yoga encompasses the original, classic yoga postures, focusing on muscle strength, balance, stretching and breathing (pranayama).

Anyone can join in our retreats: men, women, couples – even if you’ve never tried yoga before. It’s a great way to gain an introduction to yoga and teach yourself to breathe properly.

Price per person in a shared double room: DKK 3,250, all inclusive. Price per person in a single room: DKK 3,850, all inclusive.

    • 10:00-10:30 Arrival

    • 13:00-14:00 Lunch
    • 14:00-15:00 Yin yoga
    • 17:00-18:00 30-minute massage and visit to the water temple with sauna & steam bath
    • 19: 00-21:00 Two-course dinner at our Italian restaurant, La Rocca
    • 21.00-22:00 Nidra yoga
    • Overnight stay in spa room

 

DAY 2

    • 08:00-09:00 Mindful walking around the lakes
    • 09:00-10:00 Breakfast, New Nordic breakfast buffet
    • 10:00-11:00 Sauna Aufguss at Ni’mat Spa
    • 11:30-12:30 Yoga
    • 13:00-14:00 Lunch with local and organic products in Hotel Kong Arthur’s restaurant
    • 14:00-15:30 Conclusion and rounding-off

 

 

FACILITIES AND INSTRUCTOR

We have created a special yoga area which offers both a patio and an indoor yoga room. A maximum of 12 people may attend each retreat. Yoga and meditation at Hotel Kong Arthur is led by Louise Juel Severin. Louise Juel Severin is a qualified yoga teacher and a mindfulness coach. She works with stress management and trains yoga teachers in yoga philosophy, breathing techniques, relaxation and chakra. Louise works very holistically, and her practices will bring you on a physical journey, s well as provide you with a spiritual, energetic, mental and emotional experience.
